About Us

Sweet Bliss Cakery is owned and operated by Cheri Elder. Cheri has been in the cake business for more than 40 years. She masterfully creates cakes of all shapes and sizes. From elegant, modern wedding cakes to fun and festive party cakes.

  How did it all start?

Cheri found her artistic ability in the 6th grade. She entered a drawing contest sponsored by Walt Disney that resulted in the company purchasing 4 of her pictures for $4 each. Her first experience with cake decorating didn't come until her daughter's first birthday 6 years later. She then began taking Wilton Cake Decorating Classes, and later becoming a Wilton trainer.

  Since Then

Cheri has won numerous awards at cake shows all across the United States including many Best of Shows. In 2007 she was inducted in to the International Cake Exploration Society Hall of Fame. Cheri now has a new home with her daughter's family in Blue Springs where she enjoys having her daughter Pamala and grandson Andrew to help.
